Job Description

As the Senior Systems Engineer – you will directly support an Army Program Manager. Using your DoD 5000, engineering design, and technical specification experience, you will provide direct technical acquisition support; aid in specifications definition; decompose JCIDS documentation into functional and technical requirements; provide input to and review DoD 5000 documents for technical accuracy; and assist in the preparation and execution of key technical strategies in the initiation of this warfighting capability.


  • Conduct interoperability analysis, system standards, military operations (ground, sea, air, and space), program analysis, requirements analysis, program planning, and cost analysis.
  • Performs top level design and oversees development, fabrication, testing, installation, and troubleshooting
  • Sets and maintains overall direction for a program to control overall scope, budget, and schedule for complex, multi-project programs and communicates with managing directors and client executive management to ensure that critical program related issues are addressed
  • Performs planning to include technical management, system integration, verification and validation, evaluation of alternatives encompassing cost and risk, supportability and analyses are performed at all levels of total system to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge performance, schedule, and cost requirements
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or assignments
  • Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives
  • Demonstrates domain and expert technical knowledge
  • Plans, directs and manages activities to ensure that technical requirements are met
  • Interactions involve interfacing with senior management
  • Coordinates efforts with other program offices

Job Requirements

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English to executive level leadership stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced, high visibility program office while balancing multiple workstreams.
  • Highly capable user of MS products (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Project)
  • Education & Experience:

    • Candidates must possess a Master’s degree
    • Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting DoD
    • Candidates must have a fundamental understanding and experience in DoD Acquisition programs and DoD Instruction 5000.2.
    • Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years of direct experience with USA or USMC Infantry Operations


    Clearance Requirements:

    • Must possess an active SECRET clearance.


    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience within PEO Soldier Engineering experience
    • DAWIA Career Field Engineering Level II Certified
