Job Description

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Employ procedures, methods, and tools to identify, represent, and formally assess Surface Ship training leading to certification.  Formulate and submit recommendations/options to leadership to ensure mission area certification completion in a timely manner.  Generate reports that support the Certification Analysis task, including:  training gaps, training organization trainer short-falls, distributed and embedded training system compliance with mission training requirements, supportability analysis, risk analysis and operational lessons learned.  Review the latest mission area data for ships in the Basic Phase, by utilizing TORIS Master Scheduling Plan (MSP) database, FLEETVIEW, and End-of-Mission Reports (EOMR); and produce quality assurance reports weekly that track Repetitive Exercise (RE) proficiency, Certifications incomplete/held in abeyance, and Standard Operating Procedures deviations for Certification and Non-certification events.

  • Plan, coordinate, facilitate, and conduct certification analysis, at all levels of data collection and analysis.  Coordinate with organizations that support the certification process as required.  Weekly, review and provide feedback on Basic Phase Training Plans and Basic Phase Training Change and Risk Reports for Pacific Fleet AOR ships.  Areas of focus include scheduling, de-confliction of events, SOP deviations, waivers, school shortfalls and manning.
  • Analyze operational and maintain related performance data to identify negative trends impacting training and certification. Collect and analyze historical data and formulate metrics in support of this analysis.



Job Requirements

Required Skills:  At least 7 years of Navy fleet training experience; Experience in the Navy's Inter-deployment Training cycle.


Desired Skills: Experience leading a team and assigning workload;


Education: Degree in Acquisition/Procurement, Business, Engineering or related field.


Clearance: Current, active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
