Galapagos, LLC has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our rapidly growing team.   As the Quality Assurance Specialist (Journeyman) you will directly support the Defense Health Agency, Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System - Industrial Hygiene (DOEHRS-IH) Program Office. As a member of a team of skilled practitioners, you will work independently or under general direction on all phases of quality assurance including the administrative management of contract staff, on enterprise/complex projects. Analyzes large amounts of data to identify deviations in that data. Researches questionable data with users. Develops specifications to address data discrepancies based on the results of research with users and identifies data reduction processes to assist in the analysis of information produced by the application.

  • 5+ years of practical experience minimum
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical problems to non-technical audiences
  • Understanding and experience in a broad range of systems, industry best practices and competencies
  • Experience assessing impacts of legacy systems and addressing data related problems of system integration and compatibility
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
  • Proficient problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Enjoys the challenges of a dynamic development project
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Understanding and experience in a broad range of computer systems
  • Ability to analyze enterprise systems
  • Experience with DHA systems highly desired
  • Has familiarity and experience with standardized project management and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Agile (with SAFe), DevSecOPS, SELC, CMMI, ISSO, IEEE, PMI, etc).
  • Prepares milestone status reports and delivers oral presentations on quality assurance concepts to colleagues, subordinates, and user representatives.
  • Provides technical direction to other staff members as needed.
  • Experience with an SDLC, Agile (Scrum and Kanban) processes and understand the required artifacts at the various stages is preferred.
  • Developing and maintaining a QA Plan, QA Metrics Plan, QA Process and QA Procedures, QA Templates and QA Audit Checklists, QA Audit criteria for QA Processes and Procedures.
  • Audits software development Process and Products according to strict government quality standards and reports on discrepancies, progress and corrective actions.
  • Performs analysis of large amounts of data to identify deviations.
  • Performs quality assurance testing on deliverable and work products for correctness and adherence to the design concept and to Government standards; and reviews progress in accordance with schedules.
  • Performs research of questionable data with users.
  • Develops specifications to address data discrepancies.
  • Coordinates with the Project Manager, COTR, and Government technical and functional personnel, to ensure problem solution and user satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications:
