Job Description

Location:  Fort Hood Texas (Killeen)

Job Summary:

The candidate will work within a cohesive engineering team to design and implement computer systems, software and networks.  The candidate is expected to perform under general direction and ensures that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements. Performs and leads tests of software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects. May create test data for applications. Documents and works to resolve all complex problems. Reports progress on problem resolution to management. Devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations. Acts as information resource about assigned areas to technical writers and other Quality Assurance Specialists. Performs complex workflow analysis and recommends quality improvements.

Responsibilities (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned):

  • Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to insure efficient planning and execution.
  • Manage and document system configurations.
  • Establish Quality Assurance (QA) and Configuration Management (CM) processes and procedures, well-documented in a Quality Control Plan (QCP).
  • Identify policy needs, review, revise, and establish new policies while advising staff and management.
  • Create standard operating procedures for Quality Assurance.
  • Write test scripts and perform QA testing.
  • Summarize and report test results.
  • Oversee corrective actions and non-recurrence of defective services.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience performing quality assurance functions
  • Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and processes of ITIL for service management.
  • Experience working in CMMI Level 3 (or higher) environments is a plus.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.
  • Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature.
  • Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen

Position requires an active DoD Secret security clearance
