Job Description

The Project Geologist/Environmental Engineer will support investigation, characterization, and remediation work at contaminated sites, to include CERCLA, RCRA, or other properties. The candidate will report directly to the project manager and be required to travel and perform field work activities on various projects in the US and internationally.  The candidate will be capable of directing and working with subcontractors and project teams, writing plans and reports for environmental projects, cost proposal support, and task management. Travel up to 40% of the time with field mobilizations averaging two to three weeks.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or applicable Engineering.
  • 10 years’ experience with environmental characterization or remediation work.
  • Advanced technical writing skills.
  • Capable of interpreting site conditions based upon review of field documentation and writing most sections of technical documents.
  • Field team lead, management of coworkers and subcontractors, and accountable for efficient execution of field efforts.
  • Task or smaller projects management, directing and overseeing work by others to meet quality and time standards.


  • Capable of performing physical field work, working in extreme conditions and walking over uneven ground.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including technical writing and Microsoft office software.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with basic understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Environmental sampling of soil, sediment, groundwater, storm water, etc.
  • Logging of soil borings utilizing the USCS.
  • Operations and Maintenance of remediation systems.
  • Installation of groundwater monitoring wells and well development.
  • Thorough field documentation skills.
  • GPS operation.
  • Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid US Passport and travel internationally.
  • Must be capable of accessing Department of Defense properties based upon a background check.
  • Must have or be able to obtain OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training, CPR, and Adult First Aid.


Candidates should have strong geologic or environmental background, with proven experience with problem-solving, working alone or with a team, time management of self and others, and positive and collaborative work performance. The candidate will be required to travel internationally, with field mobilizations averaging two to three weeks and be physically capable of performing environmental sampling or other activities. The Project Geologist/Environmental Engineer will have experience running field sampling, characterization, and remediation programs and preparation of plans and reports. Prior experience as site safety officer a plus.
