Location:  Fort Irwin, CA

Job Summary:

KaiHonua, LLC has an immediate opening for an Outside Plant Technician-II. The Supply Technician performs all functions required for the accountability, inventory, and control of all property assigned to the Fort Irwin NEC, including Government Furnished Property (GFP) and Contractor Property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:

  • Ensure assigned projects are completed on time, within budget and to Army Network Solutions standards
  • Direct and supervise the implementation of Outside Plant (OSP) copper and fiber optic cabling systems for voice, data and video imaging on customer premises. Responsible to apply skills and knowledge to achieve efficient and accurate implementation and documentation of assigned projects.
  • Review, understand, and execute project proposals/quotations, personnel requirements, equipment and cabling specifications, material management, tooling and transportation requirements for assigned project(s)
  • Experience with fiber optic test and splicing equipment
  • Perform site survey(s) as directed by management
  • Provide "as built" documentation used to identify all materials, labor, equipment and tooling used on projects, invoice customer, show proof of satisfactory completion of project and provide or update final "formal" documentation as required by the project specifications. Perform final job walk with customer to ensure total quality and customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school/GED
  • 2+ years of experience performing OSP functions
  • Proficient with basic computer systems including email and Microsoft Office applications and be able to work with a computer for extended periods of time
  • Preferred licenses – CommScope, Corning, BICSI
  • Must possess and maintain an IT-III level certification IAW AR 25-2

Abilities:

  • Able to obtain/maintain a valid driver’s license and Post driving privileges
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision
  • Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature
  • Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals

Position requires a Secret clearance
