Job Description

The SME will provide functional, technical, and administrative support to the DLA Readiness Division at Troop Support. The Strategic Material Sourcing Group (SMSG) Readiness Division is responsible for assessing the wholesale medical readiness posture of the Medical Supply Chain to meet the Services’ wartime and other contingency requirements. The SMSG also coordinates with the Services and assesses contingency requirement from Combatant Commanders as well as other DOD and non- DOD government activities. The SMSG has the responsibility to assess the industrial base capability to meet the Services’ requirements for deployment and sustainment.

Capable of working independently and demonstrates knowledge, skills and expertise of commercial best practices of medical material and its applications for government use. Capable of providing technical, functional, analytical, administrative and program management support to current and future medical readiness projects. Capable of providing technical and functional system support for Medical Directorate’s readiness management tools evolving from the development of new business practices and system initiatives. Experience with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Corporate Exigency Contracts (CEC), Prime Vendor War Readiness (PVWRM). Demonstrates the experience to successfully manage multi-million dollar valued programs. Possesses computer automation information skills and database management skills.

Job Requirements

A secret clearance is required. Travel 30% of the time should be anticipated. The travel required will be to Continental United States (CONUS) and may include Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) locations. Desired personnel for this position shall demonstrate a minimum of 10- 15 years’ experience with Department of Defense logistics or supply chain management, of which a minimum of 2 -5 years shall be experience in Department of Defense medical logistics. Bachelor of Sciences degree and minimum of 5 years of experience with logistics or supply chain management and medical logistics.

Personnel shall demonstrate a working functional knowledge of the following programs and applications: Industrial Preparedness Program (IPP), Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Corporate Exigency Contracts (CEC), Prime Vendor War Readiness (PVWRM), Medical Commercial Product Visibility (MCPV), MediPrice (MDP), Contingency Automation Application (CAA), Readiness Electronic Catalog (ECAT), Medical Contingency File (MCF), Medical Materiel Catalog (MMC), Defense Priorities and Allocation System (DPAS), Item Source Simulation (ISS), Medical Contingency Requirements Workflow (MCRW), Federal Logistics Information System Web Search (WebFLIS), Defense Medical Logistics Item Identification System (DMLIIS), and Military Standard Requisitioning Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP).
