Description

As the Design Strategist, you will directly support the Services Division, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Ft. Meade, MD.  As a member of a team of skilled practitioners, you will deliver effective communication solutions and provide analysis, recommendations, and visualization representations for priority projects and initiatives by gathering requirements for the various communications solutions and ensuring they are tailored for their intended audiences through a mix of requirements management, content strategy, and information design.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Gather high level requirements for visual artifacts, experience design, concept development and find new ways to represent and communicate information
  • Facilitate small working groups/sessions with clients in a unique and fun atmosphere to collect requirements and information
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research for customer discovery, problem framing, and insights generation
  • Support research and design for strategic planning initiatives
  • Develop strategies for organizational improvement, touchpoint / channel design, and
  • Customer Experience (CX) service delivery improvements
  • Apply Co-creation methods and techniques to develop opportunities with customers and end-users
  • Create visual and written communications to support change management initiatives
  • Create visual mockups and prototypes for testing and validation with customers
  • Work with the design studio to conceptualize and execute visual design artifacts
  • Support and develop executive presentations and major project milestones

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree, with a focus in Business, IT, Design
  • Master's degree in Design or Business-related fields a plus
  • 3-5 years professional experience
  • Experience in information design/design strategy a plus
  • Experience in CX, UX, and Service Design a plus
  • Excellent client-facing skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Strong knowledge in principles of graphic design, information layout, and presentation
  • Ability to collaborate productively in large interdisciplinary teams
  • Ability to multi-task, take on several projects, meet deadlines, organize, and communicate effectively
  • Proven project management track record demonstrating that engagements were delivered on-time and within budget
  • Comfortable facilitating groups of/working closely with executive level clients and Subject Matter Experts
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, comfort with Adobe Illustrator a plus
  • Knowledge or experience working with government clients and/or with Information Technology projects and workflows is a plus
  • **Must be a US Citizen, and have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance**
