Data Architect

Location:  Falls Church, VA

Job Summary:

KaiHonua, LLC has an immediate opening for a Data Architect to join our rapidly growing team. The Data Architect is responsible for the development, management, and maintenance of the data model, data rules, and all tasks impacting usability of application data

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Not listed in order of importance; other duties may be assigned) and must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance:

  • Understanding and experience in a broad range of data and database competencies
  • Ability to analyze data flow from source to destination in order to perform normalization, make it consumable, and present in manner that is usable by the end user community
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server highly desired
  • Experience developing ETL processes with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) highly desired
  • Designing and coding database tables to store the application’s data
  • Data modeling to visualize database structure
  • Reviewing query performance and optimizing code
  • Creating table indexes to improve database performance
  • Working with application developers to create optimized queries
  • Programming views, stored procedures, and functions
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of practical experience minimum
  • Must have an active government SECRET security clearance
  • Able to obtain applicable discipline certification as required by the contract within 6 months of hire
  • Understanding and experience in a broad range of data and database competencies
  • Experience assessing impacts of legacy systems and addressing data related problems of system integration and compatibility
  • Experience defining an overall data architecture as it relates to task goals during the analysis, design, planning phases and implementation of each project
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
  • Proficient problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Enjoys the challenges of a dynamic research and development project
  • Must be a US Citizen
