Job Description

Honu Services, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and detailed oriented individual to fulfill our Accountant opportunity.

The Accountant will provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports to assist enterprise managerial standards, best practices and compliance with various agencies.


  • Applies and analyzes accounting principles on contracts, costs, processes, practices and procedures with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) interpretations.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; assist in preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in the Accounting Field.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Deltek Costpoint experience.
  • Deltek Time & Expense
